Placing forested parcels into “designated forestland” can significantly reduce property taxes owed to the county for those forested acres (RCW 84.33). If you intend on devoting at least five contiguous acres to the growing of timber, we highly recommend applying for the forestland designation for tax purposes. Roots Forestry has multiple professional foresters on staff qualified to compete a Timber Management Plan required for approval into this land designation.
